AI should be embraced rather than feared. There is far more to be gained than lost, and it is worth all the risk.

History

"What is intelligence?"-John McCarthy

The term "Artificial Intelligence", or "AI" was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 when he held the first academic conference on the subject. Since then, the topic always played a leading role in academic researches. Due to its topicality, however, many who oppose the "rise of machines" actively presented their assertions.

Pros

Larry Page, CEO of Google, stated this: "Artificial intelligence would be the ultimate version of Google. The ultimate search engine that would understand everything on the web. It would understand exactly what you wanted, and it would give you the right thing. We're nowhere near doing that now. However, we can get incrementally closer to that, and that is basically what we work on." Supporters of Artificial Intelligence (including myself) usually bring up a point related to sustainable development in academic, practical fields.

Cons

The development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race....It would take off on its own, and redesign itself at an ever increasing rate. Humans, who are limited by slow biological evolution, couldn't compete, and would be superseded.”-Stephen Hawking told the BBC

Big names (I mean REALLY BIG) have opposed the rise of machines for various reasons. Stephen Hawking, as aforementioned, stated that the development of AI could literally mean the end of the human race. Though this may sound too extreme, the reason he came up with is quite convincing. Others such as Elon Musk (Tesla CEO), Nick Bilton (tech columnist in the New York Times), and Bill Gates (Microsoft CEO) have also feared AI for similar reasons.

Thoughts

Even in the past, fear was what most people expressed in the first place when new technology appeared. Take the first appearance of a train, for example. Back in the early 19th century, people thought that trains would rip themselves apart due to its fast speed (It was only 30 miles per hour!). There is no difference in the introduction of AI. From Stanley Kubrick's 2001 Space Odyssey to Ridley Scott's Alien:Covenant, AI is considered to be a threat to humanity rather than a blessing.

What I believe is, however, fear is just a natural part of human perception. When faced with novel situations, it is natural to feel a sense of awe before excitement. However, after overcoming these frightening moments, what follows is far more worth than all the risk. Therefore, why fear technology? Embrace it.

"Intro-Breakdown-Drop-Breakdown-Drop-Outro", this is the fixed order in composing an EDM track. "Breakdown" can be divided into "Buildup" and "Uplift".

Life is a beautiful music with some high notes and some low notes.

"Life is music. Some high notes, some low notes, but always a beautiful song."

Most of the EDM(Electronic Dance Music) in the streaming platforms follow a similar pattern mentioned above. This unspoken rule is what makes this particular genre so special but null. Thus, songs that top the charts slightly vary from these standards and maintain their uniqueness. Life, just like music, is not so different after all. We all follow the same pattern in a big way(from birth to death), but people who have ambition(just like me) attempt to apply variations to their lives. Therefore, being a music producer, this essay will present how my short life can act as a groundwork to top the charts.

"Intro"

The intro is literally an "intro" in music production. Basic chord progressions happen here, several musical instruments are introduced here, and genre-defining tones are presented (tones may change, obviously). As trivial as it seems, but the intro actually plays an instrumental role in deciding whether the listeners will listen through the entire song or not.

Becoming an astronaut. This is what little Robin dreamed of when he was only 8 years old. Fascinated by the immensity and its infinite emptiness, space was an object of wonder. Apparently, the Earth was too small to hold his creativity. Was it not his dream to go to space and become a trailblazer in a field that is still unexplored?

"Breakdown"-"Buildup"

Buildup creates the entire mood of the song. The main melody is presented and several other musical instruments are introduced over the melody.

Computer programming and coding. This is what created my main melody through middle school and high school. I still cannot recall how it caught my interest, but one thing is clear. I am fully into the subject, fascinated by its complex nature. I love how every problem, not confined to science, but in all fields, can be solved through simple(sometimes it is not that simple..) typing. To me, computer programming language seems useful than any other language. A language that helps translate other languages? It IS quite intriguing, isn't it?

"Breakdown"-"Uplift"

This is when things get interesting. Basically, "uplift" is where music prepares to entertain the listeners with its full potential.

This is what I am going through right now by attending KMLA, preparing for college, and working on projects. While preparing for the rest of my life, I made a big decision which is to establish a company. I made the conclusion that being an entrepreneur was the way to express the full potential of space exploration and computer engineering. After becoming a CEO and as my income gets stable, I can harness my composing ability to relieve stress and entertain myself just like Virgil Abloh, Founder and CEO of the fashion brand Off-White, did.

Rest of the music

Unfortunately, 18 years of life is too short to determine all the fun parts. Thus, parts from the "drop" to the "outro" are not yet composed. However, as most massive producers do, I myself created an interesting plan for the rest of the song.

After entering university (which is the first "drop" of my life), computer science and business management will be my major. The next "buildup" of my career would be preparing for actually founding a company. In order to achieve this, gaining life experience is essential.

Just like composers, inspired by the moment, modify a piece of music, my life will not go as smoothly as planned. Still, it sounds like a great harmony, doesn't it?
